Dr. S. Dharmaraj holds a Ph.D. in Finance from Jawaharlal Nehru
Technological University, Hyderabad (JNTUH), along with an M.Com and
M.Phil from A.V.C. College under Bharathidasan University, and a
Postgraduate Diploma in Rural Development (PGDRD) from Annamalai
University.
An alumnus of the Faculty Development Programme (FDP) at the Indian
Institute of Management, Ahmedabad (IIMA), and a Certified Trainer for
Financial Cooperatives (CTFC) from the Centre for Professional Excellence in
Cooperatives (C-PEC), BIRD, Lucknow.
Possesses over 28 years of distinguished experience in cooperative
education, training, research, and consultancy, having served in key
academic and administrative positions at the Institute of Cooperative
Management (ICM), Kannur (Kerala), and ICM Madurai (Tamil Nadu); the
National Council for Cooperative Training (NCCT), New Delhi, as Deputy
Director; and the Vaikunth Mehta National Institute of Cooperative
Management (VAMNICOM), Pune, as Assistant Professor and Registrar (i/c).
Currently serving as Deputy Director at ICM Madurai, contributing to
capacity building and institutional development in the cooperative sector.
A notable tenure as Director (i/c) at ICM Madurai led to recognition by the
National Council for Cooperative Training (NCCT) for making ICM Madurai’s
outstanding contributions to cooperative education, training by fostering a
more skilled and prepared workforce in Tamil Nadu during 2023-24.
Specialized knowledge spans cooperative management, finance, credit
systems, and banking.
An extensive body of scholarly work includes articles and case studies
published in reputed journals, with contributions in areas such as
cooperative management, rural credit, microfinance, and banking.
Numerous projects for central and state governments further reflect the
practical application of this expertise. Research has been presented at
national and international forums.
Participated in Faculty Development Programmes and workshops at leading
institutions such as IIMs, BIRD, CAB, LINAC, CICTAB and VAMNICOM
continues to enrich professional expertise.
Extensive experience in designing and delivering training programs and
seminars has fostered capacity building and professional development
within cooperative institutions and government departments at various
levels.
Deputed to the Ministry of Cooperation, Government of India during the
preliminary work and consultative processes for formulation of the New
Cooperative Policy in June 2022, contributing to policy-level discussions and
developmental initiatives.
Served as Registrar (i/c), Vaikunth Mehta National Institute of Cooperative
Management (VAMNICOM), Pune, undertaking administrative, academic,
and institutional governance responsibilities in addition to regular academic
functions.
